Quality Trampolines For Kids

When purchasing a trampoline it’s crucial to consider the quality of its materials.

At Vuly, our engineers, collaborating closely with our in-house design team, are always working hard to ensure that we create the highest quality kids trampolines.

But what defines quality?

For a start, how does a 10 years warranty on your trampoline frame sound?

That's how confident we are in our trampolines. This is important because the frame is the key component that makes up a trampoline and its components. The steel used in Vuly trampoline frames is twice galvanised on both the inside and outside of the tubes for extra protection from corrosion and rust.

It’s not just the high-quality frame that stands out on a Vuly. We ensure every part of our children trampolines – are made to last.

add Galvanised steel springs

Our steel springs are chromate conversion coated to protect against corrosion, and both the hooks and springs themselves are larger than the competition, allowing for a better rebound.

Vuly engineers have also thoroughly tested spring tensile strength and our renowned dual-layer spring system generates the optimal bouncing experience for all weights and sizes.

add Top-Quality Jumping Mats

Top-quality, Vuly jumping surfaces are made of thick and durable polypropylene, which is tough and heat resistant.

It's also lightweight, impact-absorbing, stress cracking-resistant, and boasts a very high compressive strength.

These qualities are vital for the pressure exerted on a trampoline.

Vuly adds to the athletic fun by printing games on our jumping surfaces (known as our HexVex™ Game Mat), providing your child with hours of enjoyment.

add Strong Safety Nets

Our safety nets are composed of Terylene, a synthetic polyester fabric that is known for its lightweight, yet sturdy qualities.

An extremely versatile and UV-resistant material, Terylene is commonly used in ropes and sails. With strong synthetic materials, you can be assured that you or your children will remain securely within the confines of the enclosure.

Our fortifying reinforcement strip is located around the middle of the net for additional safety.

Kids Trampolines & Safety Standards

You've probably heard that trampolines cause a lot of injuries. With Vuly, these are no more than just myths! Vuly has addressed primary concerns about trampolines expressed to us by parents everywhere!

We understand that there's nothing more important than the safety of their children. Our safe trampolines not only meet the requirements outlined by Standards Australia but exceeds them.

Standards Australia

Standards Australia is the country’s leading independent standards organisation.

They specialise in the development of internationally aligned standards for different products in Australia. They are the body behind safety standards AS 4989:2015 Trampolines for domestic use.

This standard introduces trampoline requirements for enclosures, structural integrity, the need for UV-resistant materials, and impact reduction systems.

All of our trampoline models pass these Australian safety standards. Our trampoline enclosures prevent any contact with springs or frame, eliminating impact zones in the bouncing area.

We also provide loop padding connectors and a self-sealing door – just two small (but important) areas in which Vuly goes beyond what’s required. Further proving our commitment to safety, we also meet the requirements for many safety standards published by ASTM International and the European Committee for Standardization.

In short, you can be assured every single aspect is covered when choosing a Vuly trampoline.

Read more on how we exceed safety standards below:

add Rust-Proofing

Vuly trampoline frames – and the durable Leaf Springs on our Thunder and Thunder Pro – are made from hard-wearing steel, which is galvanised on the inside of the tubing and on the outside.

Rust won't form in places that you can't see and degrade the integrity of the frame, unlike other competing trampoline models.

The 'no-contact' springs on our Lift trampoline models also feature special ‘Chromium Conversion Coating’, which provides an extra rust-free guarantee.

Vuly’s frames offer an incredible 10 year warranty, ensuring a guaranteed sturdy and safe jumping platform not found in competitors.

add Advanced Enclosure

Made from ultra-soft silk terylene or longer-lasting polyethylene material, Vuly safety enclosures feel gentle on the skin and are woven to consist of the smallest holes possible.

Unlike many competitors, Vuly trampoline nets are attached directly to the mat to prevent any contact with springs or frames, and there's nowhere for little digits to get caught.

The net is also the perfect level of tightness; you'll never fall off the side! All of our nets will gently guide you back onto the mat every time.

add Low-Impact Bounce

Vuly trampolines provide fantastic vertical bounce, which is low-impact and gentle on joints young and old.

Some activities – like running, tennis or basketball – can be taxing on knees and ankles, and other competitor trampoline models have a diagonal bounce, which can also be harmful for joints.

However, gentle bouncing on a Vuly trampoline mat is a great way to raise your heart rate without causing damage to your body.

add Competitor Safety Misconceptions

Many of our competitors claim to not sell tents and shade cover roofs for their trampolines – or advise customers to steer clear of them — because they “conflict with the height restrictions in the safety standards”.

This is simply not true.

In fact, the Australian Standard makes specific provisions for these products. It recognises that “[…] accessories specifically designed to cover the trampoline, such as tents or sunshades, may be provided with the trampoline or sold separately”.

Provided that you still assemble your trampoline with the right clearance above and around it, our Deluxe Trampoline Tents and Shade Covers are great ways to provide additional sun cover.

How Long do Children's Trampolines Last?

When it comes to the question of how long do trampolines last, there are several factors that need to be considered. Of course, the most crucial factor will always be the overall quality of the trampoline and its materials.

While trampolines are available from most large stores and online – and at very competitive prices – you should always look for the highest quality that you can afford. Take a good look at the frame, jump mat, padding, and net on trampolines that you shortlist.

Here are some of the important aspects that also impact how long a kid's trampoline lasts.

The Frame Quality

trampoline frame

A weaker frame is one of the main issues that cause trampolines to break down over time.

Some trampoline manufacturers cut down on price by compromising on the galvanised thickness that fabricates the tubes making up their trampolines. Others use materials that are not correctly treated for exposure to the weather.

Also, think carefully about the age and weight of the potential trampoline users, and make sure the trampoline frame you're looking to buy can support those users. Unlike most other brands, Vuly trampolines take up to 150 kg of weight. Our frames are also twice galvanised, so they won’t bend or break. All Vuly kids trampolines use reinforced square joiners, meaning that the frames are a lot sturdier than the round joiners used in other trampolines. The inherent strength of a Vuly frame also comes from its double-ring foundation – ensuring it's made for the utmost stability.

Our Lift 2 and Thunder Pro trampoline models are also uniquely powder-coated to further protect against rust – And don’t forget that we offer a 10 year warranty on our frames.

The Strength Of The Jump Mat

Trampoline mat being tested for weight retention

A trampoline jump mat takes a lot of bouncing over its life.

Not only must it be made of a super-durable material, it's also essential to frequently check that the mat is free from tiny holes and tears, as this will allow you to spot any damage before there is a problem.

Trampoline jump mats with small tears will need to be replaced as soon as possible so that the strength of other trampoline parts – and the jumper's safety – are uncompromised. Jump mats made from polypropylene are stronger than others – especially if they're also UV-treated.

Tested for 40,000 bounces, Vuly trampoline mats are strong and robust, suiting Australian weather conditions. Not only that, even when you're outside of the warranty period, you can still get half-price jump mat for life – along with any other core component of your trampoline. Vuly jump mats even have printed icons on them, for your family to create fun trampoline games and increase the enjoyment that you get from the trampoline.

Watch children bounce and use their imagination to make up contests using the images on the mat!

Trampoline Spring Quality

Up close of rusty trampoline springs

If you buy a low-price trampoline with springs, you'll need to check the condition of those springs – especially if the safety padding is not to the frame secured over the springs.

Kids trampolines may also break if their springs become overworked and worn out.

Some cheaper trampolines use shorter springs, with smaller diameters than others.

Not only will longer and ‘fatter’ springs outperform the smaller ones for quality and smoothness of bounce, they'll also last a lot longer and won't break as easily.

Take note of the material used to make the coils and if they seem tightly wound and strong.

Vuly springs use thicker hooks, tapered ends, and a chromate conversion coating that safeguards against snapping.

Because they attach to the topside and underside of Lift or Lift Pro frame tubes, Vuly springs activate based on user weight to push bouncers higher.

Not only that, Thunder and Thunder Pro don't even have coil springs to worry about!

The amazing Leaf Spring design from Vuly uses a single piece of shaped steel, with no rivets, to offer a bounce that far surpasses Australian Standards.

What Makes a Heavy Duty Trampoline?

Vuly's heavy duty frame up close

At Vuly Play, we’re often asked what exactly makes a trampoline heavy duty.

Well, not all trampolines are created equal.

Some are designed with sturdier frames, to hold higher weights and to endure rough weather – others are not.

We define a heavy-duty trampoline as one that lasts, no matter the conditions or how much a family bounces on it.

However, unlike what the word ‘heavy duty’ normally implies, these must-have qualities don’t make these trampolines eyesores, at least with Vuly trampolines.

Trampoline Weight Limit

Heavy-duty trampolines can take more weight. Through a combination of a well-designed structure and solidly made components, they are able to rebound much heavier weights than normal trampolines.

This is ideal for larger parents or older children and means that the legs are less likely to buckle or the mat stretch.

Vuly trampolines boast 150 kg weight ratings – among the highest of any trampoline on the market.

Unofficially, Thunder Pro can even hold the weight of an entire car!

Its closest no-spring competitor can only manage an 80 or 100 kg rating, while most coil spring trampolines can only manage 130 kg.

Trampoline Frame Quality

We’ve all seen at least one in a friend’s backyard – the sad, buckled-leg trampoline sitting in disuse.

Some trampoline frames simply aren’t designed well enough to prevent collapsing and don’t get the steel treatment that an outdoor product needs.

A robust frame is essential for a heavy-duty trampoline.

Luckily, all Vuly trampolines use click-together frames that are completely secure and sturdy for the long term.

Our Lift trampoline and its variants, as well as our Thunder model, use double-ringed frames for extra strength.

Even better, all our trampoline for kids is made to last for years!

Trampoline Weather Resistance

A protective enclosure also withstands weather is just as important as a hardy frame.

Many cheap safety nets and net poles come apart of collapse in heavy wind, and too many frames aren’t rust resistant – that’s not a heavy duty!

After all, what good is outdoor play equipment, if it can’t handle being outdoors?

Vuly frames are double galvanised on both the inside of the tubes and on the outside to prevent rust.

Thunder Pro and Lift Pro are even powder-coated for extra protection. Their rigid net poles have been tested in the wild Australian weather.

In fact, the nets on Thunder and Lift use the most UV-resistant material on the market.

Have you seen any other trampolines that stack up and could claim to be ‘heavy duty? We think that our trampolines are the hardiest out there!
